DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh Showcases Millvale Neighborhood

Pittsburgh, PA—DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh, a local nonprofit, invites the public to experience Millvale as never before on Saturday, June 17, from 10am – 4pm.

This self-guided neighborhood event will immerse visitors in the cultural highlights of what is arguably one of Pittsburgh’s most up-and-coming urban communities with its charming small businesses, hopping entertainment venues, and lovely outdoor spaces. Visitors will go behind the scenes, have a  unique experience or just have the chance to explore historic and reimagined areas within buildings that are not normally open to the public.

Inspired by the repeated success of its annual, open-house event downtown (next slated for early 2024), DOORS OPEN  Pittsburgh is now featuring two additional neighborhood events each year in a similar style. Millvale was chosen for its diverse cultures alongside its many well-known recreational assets that serve residents and tourists alike. With piqued curiosity among many due to the borough’s popularity as a filming site for multiple television and movie production houses, the June 17th event is the perfect chance for guests to explore this eclectic neighborhood, meet its people, and appreciate its wealth of public art.

“This curated event format gives people a reason to experience Millvale as never before. Our guests are encouraged to be nebby and engage with the people who make each of these places special to the Millvale community. This is really how you can begin to understand and  appreciate the uniqueness of our individual neighborhoods,” says Bonnie Baxter, Founder &  Executive Director of DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh.
